In her recent exhibit, Metronome, artist Michele Schuff explores how time and the pace of life influence the state of mind. In the wake of life’s many challenges, the choice of wax and the timeless medium of encaustic painting suggest that the fragility of life and art have been forever intertwined. Still, the rays of light emanating from her work give cause for hope.
Warmth and light embody the works of Michele Schuff. The glow of her paintings conjure up feelings of a kindled spirit. Her work awakens body and soul, creating a state of consciousness where time, space and light melt together into one.
Just as Dylan Thomas evokes light as a symbol of life’s energy and creative power in his poem “Light Breaks Where No Sun Shines,” Michele arouses in her work a sense of intensity and soulfulness that can only come from creative devotion.
A selection of Michele Shuff’s works will be on display at the exhibition LIGHT BREAKS presented by Project Art Lounge on November 16-17 in Basel, Switzerland.
